Waukee runs to romp at Fort Dodge

Trevor Allen ran for 185 yards and four touchdowns to lead Waukee past Mason City 56-20 on Sept. 13.

Allen averaged 7.1 yards on 26 carries. Three others found the end zone in another example of the Warriors’ lucrative ground game. A.J. Allen ran for 55 yards and a score, and both Chase Fegenbush and Patrick Gray scored touchdowns.

Kyle Boulanger returned an inteception 36 yards for a touchdown, and Matt Corbett also had a pick. Anthony Nelson and Ross Vogel recovered fumbles.

Conner Wachter led the defense with 13 tackles and had one of the team’s five sacks. Gray had seven tackles and Daniel McCartan six.

Waukee plays host to Johnston on Friday before road games the next two weeks at Des Moines Roosevelt and Southeast Polk. The Dragons are 1-2 with a pair of close losses to Ankeny Centennial in week two and Urbandale in week three.
