The Waukee baseball team, still holding on to the No. 2 spot in the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association rankings, swept Urbandale on the road on July 2. They won the first game 3-2 and the second game by a score of 5-1.

The Warriors had a 3-0 lead going into the fourth inning in the first game and were able to hold off the comeback attempt by the J-Hawks as they scored one run in the bottom of the fourth and in the bottom of the fifth.

Addison Meyers pitched 6.1 innings and struck out five en route to picking up the win.

Matt Hoeg went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored while Luke Fegen went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored.

The Warriors had more breathing room in game two of the double header, winning 5-1. Nick Moffit drew two walks, stole two bases and scored two runs in the second game.

Matt Mullenbach got the win on the mound, pitching all seven innings.

The Warriors followed up their double header with Urbandale with a double header against Southeast Polk in Waukee on Monday. The Warriors, once again, got the sweep, defeating Southeast Polk 4-3 in game one and 6-2 in game two.
